: Maximum BS
I have a subscription to Maximum PC Magazine, and have had one for quite a few years. Although I'm not a "bleeding edge" type of technology person, I rather enjoy the CD's that come with each issue, what with their game previews, freeware utilities, and interesting stories. In fact, it was the major impetus to upgrade draal (the server TCM is on) from the piddly P2-266 it was to the Dual Core 3.0 last year.
Their catchphrase is "Maximum PC, Minimum BS." Usually they're right. Until this evening.
I was browsing the October issue's CD earlier this evening and found this fascinating tidbit.

Apparently, Sun is now using the Javascript Runtime Environment.
Fascinating.
Of course, Java is the compiled programming language used by Sun Microsystems, the AP exam, UIL testing, and the world over as a "write once, run anywhere" language. JavaScript, on the other hand, is a buggy implementation of a interpreted language who's form are as myriad as the browsers available on the market.
If I have the time later this weekend, I'll probably implement this JSRE.
